When Amina visits her family in Mali, she loses a baby tooth and according to custom places it under a clabash and receives according to Mali custon, a chicken and rooster. THe excietement over the loss of her tooth and the anticipation of the tooth fairy visit are very real. Amina then experiences the hatching of baby chicks from the rooster and chicken, but must leave them in Mali when her visit is ended. Based on a true family.
